The season opened with Love Letters by A.R. Gurney, directed by Dodie Ripon-Lovett. This touching and poignant play follows the lifelong relationship between Melissa and Andrew through the letters they exchange over the course of five decades. Filled with humor, warmth, and emotional depth, the production explored the enduring power of friendship, love, and human connection.
In the winter, RiverStage presented All My Sons by Arthur Miller, directed by Jove Graham. Widely regarded as one of the most important works in American drama, the play tells the story of a respected businessman whose past decisions cast a long shadow over his family and community. Through themes of responsibility, sacrifice, trust, and betrayal, the production delivered a powerful and thought-provoking theatrical experience.
The season concluded with Gypsy, featuring music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and a book by Arthur Laurents. Directed by Jennifer Wakeman with musical direction by Russ Wynn, Jr., this beloved musical follows the determined and ambitious Mama Rose as she guides her daughters through the world of vaudeville and show business. Filled with unforgettable songs, larger-than-life characters, and timeless themes of family and ambition, Gypsy provided a spectacular finale to the season.
