The season opened with Twelfth Night, William Shakespeare’s timeless comedy filled with mistaken identities, romance, and laughter. This beloved classic brought Shakespeare’s wit and charm to life while demonstrating the versatility and talent of RiverStage’s performers.
Next, audiences enjoyed Puffs, the wildly popular comedy that offers a hilarious and heartwarming look at a familiar wizarding world from the perspective of the often-overlooked students who simply tried to survive seven chaotic years at a magical school. The production delighted fans with its clever humor, fast-paced storytelling, and memorable characters.
The winter season featured Lend Me a Tenor, Ken Ludwig’s award-winning farce. Set in the world of opera, this laugh-out-loud comedy delivered mistaken identities, backstage chaos, and nonstop entertainment as one mishap after another unfolded in spectacular fashion.
In the spring, RiverStage presented Fences, August Wilson’s powerful drama. Widely regarded as one of the most important works in American theatre, the production explored themes of family, responsibility, race, and the pursuit of dreams. Through compelling performances and emotional storytelling, Fences offered audiences a thought-provoking and unforgettable theatrical experience.
The season concluded with Oliver!, based on Charles Dickens’ classic novel. Filled with memorable songs, colorful characters, and a timeless story of hope and resilience, the production brought together performers of all ages for a heartwarming finale that celebrated the spirit of community theatre.
